Does it get any better?
Every first day of a month symbolizes new trends for the food blogger world, and this June is thrilling with summer vibes. Cooking something lip-smacking for your readers, or simply updating your content with these ideas, here’s what’s coming in with June-and things you can offer-the arena!

  1. Summer Holidays: Time to Prepare for Celebration
Is it just me, or do summers make things seem more fun? Maybe it’s the chill vibe; endless possibilities for outdoor activities; or maybe it is all those holidays and special occasions that crop up seemingly left, right, and center. Whatsoever be the case, the readers seem to be in the mood for some summer fun, which means it is time to whip up some creative holiday recipes and ideas for entertaining.
With several holidays to celebrate in the season leading up to summer from Memorial Day to July 4th, calling for some summer BBQs and picnics, do not forget to remember these summery dates; if you are located outside of the U.S., be sure to check your calendars for local holidays, too. Believe me, summer will just slip by, and before you know it, fall and winter holidays will come rolling in!
  2. Grill Masters, Unite: Time to Fire-Up the BBQ
Ahh, June-everything tastes better when grilled in June. Be it a BBQ aficionado or one who takes pleasure in perfect grilling, it is now the time to let those grilling tips and recipes go! Another category of cooking altogether, with juicy grilled chicken as the centerpiece propped by all types of perfectly charred veggies! Do you have a secret to a marinade that stands on its own? Or that BBQ sauce recipe that is guaranteed to bring home the RIBBONS? These are quite the flavor pairings you can guide your followers through with!
Then there are those skewers, the iconic kind; somehow, just that stick makes everything feel like summer holiday. How about a roundup of your favorite skewers, or talk about how to make grilling easy for your novice readers? As this is when interest in BBQ really picks up, showcase those grilling creations of yours!
In the Kitchen: It Never Gets Old. Get on with It!
Grilling isn’t the only new summer food trend. As temperatures rise, readers are also on the lookout for something fresh, light, and colorful. I’m not talking about your ordinary leaf salad—in fact, it’s time to get a little innovative and incorporate some summer fruits into the equation.
Peaches and strawberries and watermelon—these gloriously luscious fruits are at their peak; why not throw them into a fresh salad? Some crumbled tangy feta cheese or a spreadable creamy goat cheese would add a nice contrast. Or a little heavier on the stomach would be a substantial pasta salad or possibly a rich egg salad that would drive your readers mad with hunger.
These summer salads are a flexible and colorful way to keep your readers excited about the bounty of fresh flavors this season offers. They are also a perfect foil for those smoky barbecue dishes you are already sharing!
  3. Time for Some Camping Feast!
The season of camping has kicked off! As the weather warms up, your readers would surely be thinking about the wilderness—and that food translates into campfire meals! If you are anything like me, while the experience plays a large part, so does food in camping. One very special thing about eating outdoors is whether it be ooey-gooey s’mores or well-grilled food under the stars.
This would be the perfect venue for your followers to share their camping recipes and clever campfire tricks. A roundup of camping recipes or a collection of campfire cooking tips would help your readers as they prepare for their own summer adventures. After all, what is camping without some delicious food?
  4. The Summer Slump: Staying Engaged Tips
Let’s face it: Some summer blogging brings about some dreaded Summer Slump where traffic dips a little, and it’s easy to feel you are not reaching as many readers as you would like. Well, do not fret; it is perfectly normal!
If the Summer Slump is affecting you, breathe in, and remember it is the best time to try out fresh content. Ali from Gimme Some Oven has an excellent list of tips for keeping your mind stimulated during this time. One of my favorites is to push some boundaries with your blog-whether that means hosting a new recipe series, shooting fun recipe videos, or even presenting some sort of challenge for your readers. Get creative and have fun with your blog!
On the other hand, should things get a bit out of control, plan in some downtime, as it is all too easy to become engrossed in a rough routine. Sometimes your absence will recharge your batteries and revitalize your spirits back to blogging once again!
  5. Winter in the Southern Hemisphere: Cozy Recipes for Chilly Days
For those of you living in the Southern Hemisphere, winter officially begins in June. As the temperature dips and days become shorter, your readers are no doubt craving slow-cooked recipes to keep their spirits up. Now is the time for some hearty soups, perhaps some stews, and of course, some baked desserts for these chilly nights.
If you’re within Australia or New Zealand, what is seasonal in this month might guide your recipes. Fresh winter produce, such as root vegetables, citrus fruits, and dark leafy greens, can inspire some amazing dishes that’ll keep your readers warm all through the season!
What do you have up your sleeve for posting this month? From barbecues to fresh salads and camping recipes, there are so many avenues to explore! How will you fit these seasonal trends into the mix without sacrificing the novelty of your content?
The summer is here, and it brings all good things in and out of the kitchen and onto your blog!
